    AIGA presented its (Re)design Awards on October 15 at The Bullitt Center in Seattle. Several 2015 graduates from the Division of Design were winners.

    2015 Contemporary NW Art Awards

    Professor Helen O’Toole, Professor Emeritus Akio Takamori, and two alumni are among the winners. The Portland Art Museum exhibition opens in February 2016.

Horie a USA Distinguished Fellow

United States Artists selected Ayumi Horie (MFA 2000) as one of 37 fellows for 2015. Over 400 nominations were reviewed this year. Each fellow receives an unrestricted $50,000 award.

Govedare Exhibit + Installation

Painting + Drawing Professor Philip Govedare has a solo show at Prographica through December 19. Reproductions of three of his earlier paintings are in the Aspire Lounge at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

Design Beyond the Classroom

Professors Karen Cheng and Kristine Matthews have received a UW Royalty Research Fund Grant, and they have each been involved in several other projects.
