University policy requires that students declare a major by the time they have accumulated 105 credits—early in their junior year. Students transferring with 90 or more credits should be prepared to declare the major during the first quarter of attendance at UW.
Current Students / Freshmen
After completing 5 credits of Art at the introductory level (100/200 level ART classes) schedule an appointment with an Art Adviser to officially declare the major. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to declare the major.
Complete the equivalent of 5 credits of ART at the introductory level (100/200 level ART classes) prior to transferring. After admittance to the UW meet with an Art Adviser in the School of Art to declare the major. If you have questions prior to transfer, email an Art Adviser at firstname.lastname@example.org. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to declare the major.
The School of Art does not offer post baccalaureate admission into the IVA program.
