Animation Research Labs The mission of the ARL is to advance the state of the art in animation through research, teaching, and computer-animated production. The ARL is a place where computer scientists, animators, artists, musicians, architects, storywriters, and user-interface designers work together to create new algorithms, systems, and tools for computer animation -- and use these advances to create innovative and experimental animated productions, including interactive forms of animation such as web-based animation and games.
CARTAH: The computing facilities at CARTAH (Center for Advanced Research Technology in the Arts and Humanities) are available on a project basis - link to CARTAH for more information.
DXARTS:
The University of Washington Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media. This new program in Digital Arts at the University of Washington fosters path-breaking collaborations across many disciplines including visual art, music, theater, film, architecture, engineering, design and science.
Henry Art Gallery: Graduate students have study access to the Monsen Study Collection of 19th and 20th century photographs housed at the Henry. Link to UW's Henry Art Gallery for more information.
The Jacob Lawrence Gallery: Located in the School of Art, The Jacob Lawrence Gallery features the work of the School's faculty and students.
DMG: Design Machine Group - A collaborative research studio aimed at fostering and developing ideas that will shape the future of design and information technology.
School of Art Library: The School of Art Library houses a section of nearly 2,000 volumes which pertain to photography. The Art Library has a total of 44,000 volumes and a direct link to the UW main library which catalogs nearly 2,000,000 entries
