Art History Grad Students & TAs
The Resource Room houses the circulating AV equipment for the Art Building and a collection of duplicate slides used for teaching and student review. It also serves as a slide and digital image review space for students in selected courses.

General Equipment Pool:
Resource Room equipment is available to faculty, instructors, and TAs for classroom use. To reserve a piece of equipment, be sure to sign up on the designated calendar in the Resource Room. Following is a list of items that may be checked out:

Slide projector
Video projector with VCR
Video monitor with VCR
Overhead projector
Projection screen
VHS camcorder and tripod
Laser pointer
CD and tape player

VHS CAMCORDER AND TRIPOD: These may be used outside of a classroom to document demonstrations, exhibits, guest lectures, and to record work-in-progress. Videocassettes must be provided by individuals or their program.

Please note: Checkout is limited to the length of a class. This equipment is not available for studio or personal use, and undergraduate students are not eligible to borrow equipment.

The Resource Room urges users to be extremely cautious with all equipment. Funds may not be available to replace equipment that is irreparably damaged or stolen.

Make-Up / Special Needs Exams:
These exams should be planned and scheduled in advance. It usually is simplest to sign up for one of the seminar rooms, although lecture rooms also may be used. For more information about these rooms, click here (this will take you to a page in the Art Slide Library web site).
Such exams should NOT take place in the Resource Room or Slide Library.

Room 309:
Room 309 has a copystand with electronic strobes and a studio photography space with tungsten floodlights and a variety of backdrop cloths. A camera and tripod are also available. You must sign a legal contract in order to use the room and its equipment, and a fee is charged. Appointments are made through the Resource Room; fees are collected at the time an appointment is made. Please plan ahead to use this room because it can become heavily booked, especially at the end of the quarter or when scholarship applications are due.

Circulating Camera:
A 35mm SLR Camera is available for use on or adjacent to the School of Art grounds for documenting installations, class projects, etc. You must sign a legal contract in order to use this camera, and a fee is charged. Appointments are made through the Resource Room; fees are collected at the time an appointment is made.

Digital & Digital Video Cameras:
These are available for general student checkout through the SoA Computer Center on the second floor.

Multimedia Carts:
A Student Technology Fee grant allowed us to buy the equipment for two multimedia carts that are available for student checkout. Each cart has a laptop computer (one is Windows & the other is Mac), a data projector, and a sound system. Zip drives and wireless remotes also are available if needed. Appointments are made through the Resource Room, and a legal contract must be signed before borrowing.
