Checking-out and Using the Art Slide Library
Graduate Students

Work Space:
One or two slide sorters marked Art & Design are available each quarter, and they are for general use.
If these sorters are occupied, a staff member will find you a place to work.
Since sorters must be shared by a number of people, slides should not be left on them.
A staff member will assist you with placing slides on hold if you need to continue a project later.

Borrowing & Returning Slides:
Introduce yourself to a staff member and explain your current project.
Once you have chosen slides, bring them to the front desk and ask for assistance.
Fill out a purple checkout slip while a staff member photocopies the slide mounts.
Students must provide their student number regardless of their teaching status.
When returning slides, have a staff person check them in, and please stay to be sure your record is cleared.
Loan period: 24 hours

Door codes:
Under certain circumstances, Art & Design TAs may request door codes for after-hours access to the ASL.
Staff may ask that a faculty member request the code on your behalf.
Each person has a unique door code, and the codes should never be shared with anyone.
If you plan to borrow slides after hours, staff will need to train you in advance.
