Slide
Production Policy
Photographing, preparing, and cataloging a slide requires a minimum of
two weeks. Slide request forms are available in the Art Slide Library.
We expect faculty to check the drawers prior to submitting a request so
as to avoid duplicate ordering.

| Slide quotas are assigned to each faculty member based on the number
of classes they are teaching during the current academic year, with
additional slides allotted for new courses. |
Each Art and Design program, including Foundations, is allotted
a slide quota every school year. Specifying a class number or program
when ordering slides helps the Slide Library properly allocate requests.
Slides of Faculty Work:
The Art Slide Library collects slides of faculty work. Current and
prospective students, both undergraduate and graduate, frequently
visit the Art Slide Library to look at examples of faculty artwork.
If you are unable to donate slides, the Art Slide Library will gladly
duplicate slides from your collection. Examples of faculty
artwork are exempt from slide quotas. |
SoA faculty members may contact Jeanette
Mills, Director of Visual Services, with questions regarding quota
sizes and balances.

| Photography is done only at the request of a professor.
However if an image is necessary for teaching, TAs may consult the
professor they are assisting, and the Slide Library will do the photography
if the professor approves the request. |
Photography is done only at the request of a professor. However
if an area in the collection needs work, graduate students may notify
an ASL staff member or consult with an appropriate faculty person
about making the request.
Slides needed for seminar or source presentations also should be
approved in advance by an appropriate faculty member. |
Non-SoA Faculty & Students
Because
the Art Slide Library is a School of Art facility, we do not normally
accept slide orders from people outside the School. However, if you see
a need for slides that also would be of interest to SoA faculty, please
talk with Jeanette Mills, Director of Visual Services. |
