Syllabus Description:

Paper provides a multitude of possibilities as an artistic material and this course will investigate the use of paper as a support and medium in itself. Students will employ paper as a means to develop concepts and communicate ideas, considering interdisciplinary relationships and exploring both traditional and experimental processes. Throughout the quarter, we will examine historical and contemporary approaches, identify personal goals, and work collectively to analyze relationships of content and form.

Catalog Description: 
Introduces contemporary imaging methods, expands traditional drawing methods, and encourages relationship of content to structure. Introduces relationship of printmaking and painting to drawing through monotype methods.
