Dates for all the spring quarter graduation exhibitions are published, including the MFA + MDes Thesis Exhibition at the Henry Art Gallery. The first show opens on April 12.
We have learned about several students from our Divisions of Art and Design recently receiving special recognition. Congratulations to all and a thank you to these organizations for supporting our students.
Maurice Woods (BFA Design 1995, MFA Design 2005) has been selected as one of two 2016 Fellows by the San Francisco chapter of AIGA because of his work with the Inneract Project. He will be honored at an event later this month.

The Division of Design is pleased to announce the third annual Design Career Fair. The fair will offer employers a preview of the 2016 graduating class in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, and Visual Communication Design. Participating firms will be able to host a table promoting their company as well as spend time engaging with students and reviewing their portfolios. Juniors in the Division of Design will also attend. If you wish to meet with our upcoming graduates or hire summer interns, the Design Career Fair is for you!
December is a curious month at the School of Art + Art History + Design. It begins with the insular rush of finishing the quarter, immediately followed by the holiday break that can make one forget about school for a few weeks. The energy level ramps up in anticipation of finals, students actually study in Parnassus, lights glow...
Early in December 2015, links were added to Division of Design pages on the School website directing people to a new microsite documenting statistics about Design alumni. This is the culmination of a multi-year project spearheaded by Professor Karen Cheng and involving a number of students.
Instagram is a great way to dip into the daily life cycle of the School; from student work to gallery openings, our photo feed is a portal to the moments that matter. We are excited to add Instagram #takeover to the mix. Periodically, we will hand off the account to a student, faculty, or staff member. They will provide a unique perspective into the work, life, and ephemeral moments that make up the School.
