Biography

Job Responsibilities

As Advisers in Art, Art History and Design, we are committed to dispelling the myth that learning in the visual arts limits the scope of professional opportunities for our graduates. Our work is anchored by a deep commitment to the values of the School, College, and University. We advocate for and facilitate student driven questions, issues and initiatives.

Our professional advising team supports programming to help majors recognize that the dynamic learning offered in the visual arts contributes to their confidence, skills, interest in innovation, and understanding of community as they move forward. We do this by:

  • Providing one-on-one and group advising addressing the individual needs of 600 undergraduate and graduate majors
  • Developing targeted and innovative group advising for 3,000+ pre-majors, transfer students, and the public
  • Creating programming through our Student Voice Project including events and activities that support the professional development of art, art history and design majors, such as career and professional preparation workshops and alumni meetups
  • Serving on School, College, and University-wide committees
