COVID-19 Updates: Alumni

Dear Alumni

Thank you so much for your dedication to the School of Art + Art History + Design. It is comforting to know that, even in these times of isolation, the arts hold us together and provide an ongoing source of resilience and beauty.

We know that many in our community have been hit particularly hard by this crisis and the unfortunate, but necessary, precautions we must take to best ensure public health and safety. Over the past few months, a number of organizations have responded with various resources — financial and otherwise — for those in the arts. Seattle's Office of Arts & Culture has compiled a list of Resources for Artists and Organizations Amid COVID-19 and 4Culture has a COVID-19: Ongoing Resource List. These include information and links to many local and national resources, including Artist Trust's COVID-19 Artist Trust Relief Fund and 4Culture's Cultural Relief Fund to support creatives. For alumni outside of the Puget Sound region, the National Endowment for the Arts has compiled COVID-19 Resources for Artists and Arts Organizations. And remember that, as alumni, you have access to the UW's Career and Internship Center.

Alumni Group + Your News

We are excited to share that we have a new and evolving School Alumni Group that is finding ways for us to stay connected, both virtually and in person. If you have not yet registered with the Group, take a moment to complete this survey. Be sure highlight any ways that you would like to engage with us in the future.

As always, we invite you to also share any news that you have with the School. We'll do our best to highlight the inspiring work that you’re doing out in the world. Fill in the Alumni Update form.

Some Reading

If you're seeking content, we encourage you to check out UWAA's Stronger Together. This site includes links to some of our digital content, such as videos produced by the Jacob Lawrence Gallery and a feature article about fellow alum and professor emerita, Patti Warashina. Essays from MONDAY – Volume 4 are also online. And, in Together We Will, you can also read about the numerous ways our larger UW community is responding to this pandemic.

From everyone at the School of Art + Art History + Design, we wish you good health and wellbeing — always — but especially during this difficult time.

Take care and keep in touch!
