Renee Erickson (BFA 1995) was praised in a late April 2016 feature on the bon appétit website. Just a few days later, she was lauded at the James Beard Awards as the Best Chef: Northwest. Food writer for the Seattle Times, Bethany Jean Clement, quickly posted about the win. The Stranger followed the next day with a blog post, also noting the move that Erickson and her partners made to improve compensation for Sea Creatures employees.
