Audrey Desjardins, Associate Professor of Interaction Design (IxD) at the University of Washington School of Art + Art History + Design, was awarded the Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Award in February 2023.

2023 MDes Work in Progress

Voices+Voids: Reclaiming and Transcoding Our Data as Performance

Designing Type – 2nd Edition
Fourteen years after the first edition was published, Professor Karen Cheng is releasing the fully revised second edition of her widely known book Designing Type. The American publisher of both books is Yale University Press.

Lux Aeterna
This year-long online research platform and exhibition traces and troubles the currents of technical migration and image circulation. It is curated by Jacob Lawrence Gallery Director + Curator Emily Zimmerman and produced in partnership with Northwest Film Forum.

Design Student Projects Recognized
Several projects by undergraduate Design students received recognition in the last month: as an Editor's Pick on Bestfolios, in an article on the SEGD website, and as winner of Core77 and EPDA awards.

Wieczorek at NIAS
Art History Associate Professor Marek Wieczorek was in Amsterdam from February to mid-June as a Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences where he did research and writing for a new book.
