2021 Seattle Deconstructed Art Fair

As we await the return of the Seattle Art Fair in 2022, we celebrate the second year of the Seattle Deconstructed Art Fair (SDAF). Below we have listed galleries showing the work of retired faculty and/or alums of the School of Art + Art History + Design. Please email us if we have missed including someone.

Arts at King Street Station:  a group exhibition titled Close to Home that includes alum Hongzhe Liang; runs through August 14.

G. Gibson Projects (owner is alum Gail Gibson): an online exhibition with work by alum Eirik Johnson and late Professor Emeritus Robert C. Jones.

Greg Kucera Gallery (named for alum Greg Kucera, who is director and curator): they have a solo exhibition by alum Michael Knutson titled Shifting Layered Fields – Recent Watercolors as well as a group exhibition of recent work that includes Professor Emeritus Norman Lundin plus alums Claudia Fitch and Whiting Tennis; all run through August 21.

i.e. Gallery: showing a selection of artists for SDAF during August at nearby etcetera; among the group is alum Margaret Davidson.

Jacob Lawrence Gallery: Lux Aeterna includes alums Zack Davis, Norie Sato, Stephanie Simek, Aurora San Miguel, and Charles Stobbs III; runs through September 7.

Modern Glaze: an exhibition titled Intimate Historicities — co-curated by 3D4M Associate Professor Doug Jeck and alum Laura Brodax — which includes alums Adrian Gomez, S. Lantz, Gustavo Martinez, and Juliana Wisdom; dates are August 7 through October 31.

Shift Gallery: a solo exhibition by alum Stephanie Krimmel titled Three Years Plus; dates are August 5–28.

The Garage (run by alum Barbara Robertson): a group exhibition titled Something to Talk About that includes alums Robertson, Gene Gentry McMahon, Gretchen Van Dyke, and Sheila Coppola; dates are August 7, 3–6pm, and August 21, 6–9pm.

Woodside/Braseth Gallery: their 60th annual summer group exhibition has work by alums Victoria Adams and Paul Havas; runs through August 31.
