Eason Yang (MDes, 2022) talks about his notorious competitive streak and the creation of Not Entirely Dead on Ten Thousand Things, a new podcast about Asian American stories from NPR and KUOW Public Radio, hosted by Seattle Civic Poet Shin Yu Pai.

Not Entirely Dead is a social enterprise championing cancer survivors in the workplace funded by Eason as part of Master of Design thesis in 2022.  Not Entirely Dead was recently announced as an Art and Design honoree for the Fast Company’s 2023 World Changing Ideas Awards.

For over six years, cancer did everything it could to take Eason Yang’s life. Ultimately Eason came out on top, and he collected a few merit badges after conquering the fight: earning a master’s degree, running marathons, leading a narrative change for survivor communities, and winning creative awards.
