Photomedia Open House

Scarlett Strauss in Husky 100

Our congratulations to Scarlett Strauss! She is one of the 100 students recognized by the University of Washington. She is working on a BA in Art History with a Classical Studies minor. She plans to graduate in 2017. Read more



Strange Coupling

Twelve student-artist pairings show the result of their collaborative work in an exhibition at the King Street Station. Join the celebration on Friday, June 10, from 6-9pm. Strange Coupling is run by Division of Art students. Read more

Photomedia Professor Rebecca Cummins has a new public artwork in West Seattle titled Fitting. Read more

Art History Professor Marek Wieczorek co-organized and presented at a major symposium titled "De Stijl and Its Legacy at 100," which took place on April 20 at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Read more

Also on April 20, a UW Today article featured the research on recycling/composting spearheaded by Design Professors Karen Cheng and Kristine Matthews. Read more


Alumni News

Carol Ivory (MA 1982, PhD 1990) has curated the largest exhibit to date on Marquesan art for the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. Read more

Sean McElroy (MFA 2011) and an artistic partner won a 2016 Creative Capital Award. We have had three previous recipients of these prestigious grants. Read more

Renee Erickson (BFA 1995) won a James Beard Award in early May. Read more

Joe Freeman (MFA 2014) had a recent project featured in a National Geographic blog for Earth Day. Read more

Katy Lester (BFA 2014) and Taylor Nelson (BDes 2014) have created The Blush Room, an online exhibition space for femme-identifying artists and creatives. Read more
