Jacob Lawrence Gallery — Fellowships + Internships

Home | Exhibitions | Programs | Press | About

The Gallery offers UW students opportunities to work at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery through two unique program programs: the BIPOC Graduate Student Curatorial Fellowship and Student Assistantships.

BIPOC Graduate Student Curatorial Fellowship

Jacob Lawrence Gallery annually supports a BIPOC graduate student from the University of Washington for a curatorial fellowship. The fellowship provides support for an exhibition developed by a graduate student by offering them an $800 curatorial fee and a $1,200 budget toward artist fees. The fellow receives support from the gallery’s Director + Curator, as well as two curatorial interns, during installation and deinstallation of the exhibition.

Students are encouraged to take the summer class ART 496 (Curating Contemporary Art, a Jacob Lawrence Gallery Practicum) prior to applying for an internship. To apply, please email jacoblawrencegallery@uw.edu.
