Robin Held (MA 1998) is now the Executive Director of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Washington State University (WSU). Her appointment was announced by WSU on June 26 and by Artforum a few days later. This new museum opened in April 2018. Held began the position on August 7.
Held has been well known in the Seattle arts community for two decades. She has had curatorial positions at the Henry Art Gallery as well as curatorial and administrative positions at the Frye Art Museum. She also has been Executive Director at Reel Grrls and Director of the Neddy Artist Awards. In recent years, Held has focused on fundraising and strategic planning consulting work with artists, entrepreneurs, and others.
