Since 1990, the UW Libraries has hosted the Anne Gould Hauberg Artist Images Series. The 2019 lecture was given on October 29 by Art History Assistant Professor Kathryn Bunn-Marcuse and her Kwagu’ł colleague Tom Child, Namsgamk'ala. Their presentation was titled "Awakening the Archive & Bringing Voices Alive: A Collaborative Restoration of Kwagu’ł Films with Franz Boas, 1930-2019." They spoke about their ten years of work collaborating with members of the Kwagu’ł First Nation to re-integrate audio and film recordings from the 1930s into their cultural context and histories. This work will ultimately result in a digital publication produced by Raven Space, which was founded by UBC Press and works in partnership with UW Press.
