The Jacob Lawrence Gallery is hosting a series of introductory workshops open to anyone on campus, with Tuesday classes changing every week and open drawing instructions each Thursday from 5 – 7pm.
Additionally, the gallery will remain open regular hours, Tuesday through Friday 10am – 5pm, Saturdays 12 – 5pm.

- Feb 27, 5-7pm: Found Object Art
- Mar 5, 5-7pm: Mending
- Mar 12, 5-6:30pm: Basic Art Handling and Installation
- Every Thursday, 5-7pm: Open Drawing Instruction
Bring your projects, bring a friend. There will be tables and stools to work, and Gallery B is equipped with papered walls to draw on and a ten foot canvas waiting to be taken on by all visitors (no oil paints please). We look forward to seeing you in the space!
The workshops are free and open until filled on a first-come-serve basis. Participants are not expected to have experience and do not need to be art majors. All UW students at all levels are welcomed.
