October 15 – November 8, 2025
Opening Reception: October 15, 5 – 7pm
The Jacob Lawrence Gallery is pleased to announce the 2025 Fall MFA exhibition, The Veil Is Thin Here, opening on October 15th and on view through November 8th. This exhibition will showcase the works of seven students entering their second year in the MFA program at the UW School of Art + Art History + Design:
- Stephanie Alacon
- Victoria Armstrong-Mackender
- Alex Moni-Sauri
- Oscar Pearson
- Chave Pichardo
- Andrew Roibal
- Ryan Walters
Highlighting the artwork these artists have been working on this summer, The Veil Is Thin Here invites visitors to consider how we craft visual narratives, hold community, understand memory and its slippages, and how we mark past and present loss at personal and national scales. Working across varied media, these artists come together to form a cohort marked by experimentation and free exploration, making exciting strides in their respective practices. Celebrate with us on October 15th from 5 – 7pm, and join the MFA cohort for a zine-making workshop exploring the themes of the show on October 31st from 5:30 – 7pm.
