Essays written by students in a new class about former Professor of Art Jacob Lawrence's work and teaching were combined into an online publication using Pressbook.

Industrial Design Associate Professor Jason O. Germany is the primary designer involved in developing WorldVent, a new ventilator, which has already won design awards.

The Graduate Students of Art History (GSAH) is currently quite active. The student organization has a new website as well as a reading group called Dismantling the Canon, which received Simpson Center funding for this academic year.

The School is proud to share this year's scholarship recipients. This includes awards to incoming freshmen / transfer students as well as those to continuing undergraduate and graduate students in all three divisions.

On April 30, 2021, the Division of Design hosted a virtual event titled A Symposium on Design Graduate Education. The meeting was co-organized by Audrey Desjardins, James Pierce, and Annabelle Gould.

It is typical for the School to see changes in faculty and staff from one year to the next, but this year was unusual for the number of staff departures. Two moved into higher level positions in other units, and three retired.

The School of Art + Art History + Design will hold a memorial gathering on the afternoon of November 20, 2021, at Sand Point Gallery in honor of Professor Emeritus Denzil Hurley.

This couple are both MFA alums. They are currently working on their first large-scale artistic collaboration at MadArt Studio: Niche Audience. The resulting exhibition opens on October 14 and runs through November 20.
