Interdisciplinary Visual Arts
Lynn has joined us as an Assistant Professor in a tenure-track position. She employs expanded forms of sculpture, performance, photography, and drawing in her project-based work. Lynn recently installed "Not Seeing is a Flower," a site-specific project for the San Diego International Airport; was an Artist-in-Residence at the de Young Museum, San Francisco (2017); and was the first National Artist-in-Residence at The Neon Museum, Las Vegas (2016). She has participated in group and solo exhibitions nationwide, and, in the San Francisco Bay Area, at venues including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, and the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery. Lynn previously taught at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.
3D4M: ceramics + glass + sculpture
Hanes is a full-time Lecturer during the 2018–2019 academic year. She is a figurative sculptor whose personal work deals with feminist theory in relation to visual culture and questioning ideas of embodiment, subjectivity, and identity. Hanes received an MFA in ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2017 and received the prestigious Toby Devan Lewis Fellowship for displaying exceptional promise as a grad student. At California State University Long Beach, she was an invited artist from 2017–2018, where she was also a lecturer in ceramics. Hanes has completed residencies throughout North America and Europe with solo and group shows at C.R.E.T.A Rome Gallery in Italy and an upcoming solo exhibition with Lefebvre et Fils Gallery in Paris, France. Her ceramic sculptures have been exhibited in New York City; Los Angeles; Providence, Rhode Island; and throughout Canada as well as publicly collected by Red Deer College in Alberta, Canada.
