The School of Art + Art History + Design is excited to announce an opportunity for two faculty appointments, one each in the Division of Art and Division of Art History. All appointments will be made at the rank of assistant professor and will start in September 2022. They are based on a nine-month service period.

- A successful candidate will have a research practice that unsettles established paradigms; this practice could engage with analyses of race, indigeneity, colonialism, empire, ableism, environmental issues, migration, diaspora, amongst others. The candidate will exhibit a critical commitment to the photographic medium and be responsive to the shifting technological landscape of photography and digital media. Awareness of and engagement with conceptual art practices is important.

Latin American Art
- Scholars specializing in the art, architecture, visual and material culture in the pre-Columbian through colonial era in Mexico, Central America, or South America are encouraged to apply. We seek a colleague who will contribute to our mission of sharing cutting-edge research with our diverse student body — Latinx students are the fastest growing population on campus — through teaching courses in Latin American art across a wide historical and geographical range; supervising MA and PhD students; and engaging in service.
