I’m a software designer from Seattle currently living in San Francisco. I’ve been interested in software and interaction as long as I can remember, drawing interface sketches in notebooks as a kid and developing Mac “shareware” in high school before interning at Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook in college. After graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Visual Communication Design in 2009, I spent a number of years at Facebook as a Product Designer and Product Design Manager. In 2015, I co-founded a startup named Unity&Variety which I sold to Salesforce, where I currently work as a Senior Director of Product Design on Slack.

I am a visual artist who grew up knowing, loving, and connecting with the trees and landscape of Iowa. After a storm in 2020 destroyed 70% of the beloved and iconic tree canopy in my hometown of Cedar Rapids, I began investigating the role trees play in my formative and current experiences of landscape and place. Through the lenses of loss, memory, and ecological grief, my current work explores our changed relationship to trees and landscapes after natural disaster and human intervention.

I grew up in a small town outside of Nashville, TN, and moved to PNW in 2013. I often experiment with various materials and mediums, in response to my immediate surroundings to make objects and environments that exist in the space between painting and sculpture. My work often references queer identity, artificiality, and language. I have shown nationally at galleries, museums, and alternative art spaces in Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, and Seattle.
I am a current member of SOIL Artist-Run Gallery (@soilart) and a co-founder/curator of Specialist (@specialist_sea), an experimental art gallery in downtown Seattle. I teach art and design courses at Seattle Central College and Cornish College of the Arts, and I also serve as one of the curators for Washington State Arts Commission (ARTSWA) and as a member of King County Public Art Advisory Committee at 4Culture.

I am a designer, creative director, potter, mom, and ice cream enthusiast living in Seattle, WA. I have a background in visual communication and textile design from UC Davis. I also hold an MFA in Design from the University of Washington.
For the better part of the last decade I worked for Microsoft Envisioning, a design-led team which examined emerging trends in the workplace and modern life to create a north star vision for product teams and external partners to leverage. We crafted prototypes, videos and demos exploring future experiences that gave glimpses into shifting paradigms.
I am currently working as a freelance creative director and full-time toddler wrangler. I love being in an academic environment. It’s a unique space for exploration, collaboration and discovery that is both inspiring and energizing.

3D4M: ceramics + glass + sculpture, website (sher/her/hers)
I am an interdisciplinary artist who works mostly with glass and neon. My work centers around how people form belief systems and the decisions we make with those systems on board. My recent work is a group of neon signs, blown glass objects, and laser cut acrylic that draws inspiration from both the sign industry and traditional stained-glass windows to investigate the intersection of desire, fear and belief. I am so excited to be teaching glass at UW for the winter quarter; my passion lies in facilitating creative experiences for myself and others at the intersection of service, education, and art.
