C. Davida Ingram is the 2018 Jacob Lawrence Legacy Resident at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery, supported by an NEA Art Works grant. Her exhibition, A Book with No Pages, opens on Feb 6 and closes Mar 13.

2018 Critical Issues in Contemporary Art Practice Lecture Series

This 7-speaker series starts on Jan 11 and ends on Mar 8. It is free and open to the public. Sponsored by The Boeing Company and The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation.

This Bellevue Arts Museum exhibition from Nov 10 through Apr 8 shows many artists who have taught at Pratt Fine Arts Center. Among them are a number of our alums, including three who work here now.

Familiar Faces & New Voices exhibition at Tacoma Art Museum

Familiar Faces & New Voices

An exhibition at Tacoma Art Museum surveys Northwest art in their permanent collection. Eighteen of the sixty artists are School alums and/or faculty. The exhibition remains on view through summer 2019.


Jacob Lawrence Gallery

C. Davida Ingram is in residence at the Gallery beginning January 3 as the 2018 Jacob Lawrence Legacy Resident. Her exhibition, A Book with No Pages, opens at the Gallery on February 6 and closes February 28. Read more

Painting + Drawing Professor Zhi Lin is showing Confronting History | Retrieving Memory at Prographica / KDR Gallery through January 27.

The Smart Bins project from Division of Design Professor Karen Cheng, Associate Professor Kristine Matthews, and others received Honorable Mention in the 2017 UX Awards.

Art History Assistant Professor Kathryn Bunn-Marcuse received a December 2017 fellowship grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to complete a digital publication of the 1930 recordings done by anthropologist Franz Boas. She has been working in collaboration with members of the Kwakiutl First Nation.

Interdisciplinary Visual Arts Lecturer, Full Time, Claire Cowie has a solo exhibition, Selvedge, at James Harris Gallery through February 24.

Graphic Design Professor Emeritus Richard Dahn is showing prints at the UW Club during winter quarter 2018. See examples on his website.

Painting + Drawing Professor Emeritus Norman Lundin is showing Femme: Paintings and Drawings through February 17 at Greg Kucera Gallery. Whiting Tennis (BFA 1984) also has an exhibition there titled Drawing Room.

Victoria Adams (BFA 1979) has a solo exhibition, Wellspring, at Woodside / Braseth Gallery with a reception on January 11.
