Biography
Leo Carmona (b. Oax, Mexico) is a communications professional, photographer, and media producer. Before joining the School of Art + Art History + Design in January 2023, he worked independently as a communications consultant and producer collaborating with businesses to design and scale brand experiences and materialize stories across digital and physical media. His clients include BECU, Harvard Medical School, Microsoft, King County, Seattle Public Library, and the City of Seattle. His previous roles include Marketing & Events Manager for Snohomish County Leadership, Communications Associate for CASA Latina, and Director of Community Outreach & Engagement for Colectiva Legal (People's Law Collective). Leo earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington, with a minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies in 2016.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Media Relations Specialist, Leo manages the School’s external communications and produces engaging content for multiple digital platforms and publications that support and communicate the School of Art + Art History + Design’s brand and stories. This includes managing the School website, newsletter, press, and social media presence. Additionally, he works on special projects acting as an adviser and strategist to help the School identify and solve marketing and communication challenges. Leo also provides direct event support to faculty and staff through logistical assistance, photography, videography, and event collateral.
