Photo/Media Professor Rebecca Cummins has been very active on a number fronts including a presentation at ASAP14: The Association for the Art of the Present Conference “Arts of Fugitivity" in Seattle in October. She was also interviewed about her work and featured in two books: Entropia: Coleções Interlocuções and Experimental Engagements in Interdisciplinary Art: An Anthology of Contemporary Practices In Experimental Practices: Encounters across Arts, Sciences and Humanities. An image and mention appeared in Spike Magazine #77.

Visual Communication Design Associate Professor Kristine Matthews has been chosen to be a juror for the Society for Experimental Graphic Design (SEGD) Global Design Awards. Matthews will be joining the rest of the jury in Washington D.C. this March.  

Congratulations to Photo/Media alum Jenny Irene Miller (BFA 2013) who made the 2023 Silver List organized by Silver Eye.

Art History Associate Teaching Professor Kolya Rice presented a lecture at Cascadia Art Museum on January 17, 2024 titled "The Triumph of Purism and the Fate of William Mortensen".  

Mother Tongue at Sarah Spurgeon Gallery is a two-person exhibition featuring Photo/Media Associate Professor Victor Yañez-Lazcano and artist Rafael Soldi. The exhibition is showing from February 2 through March 9. 

Artist Trust has awarded Perri Howard (BFA 1996) with a 2023 Grant For Artist Progress.

The solo exhibition of Eirik Johnson (BFA 97) The Light That Gets Lost was on view at Koplin del Rio Gallery 

Yongqi Tang (BA 2019, MFA 2022) is selected as one of 30 contemporary artists for a Fountainhead Residency in 2024 in Miami, FL. She also received a 2023 Grant For Artist Progress from Artist Trust.     

In OverburdenKatie Miller (BFA 23) shapes the Vestibule into an installation inspired by mining and mineral extraction, on view through February, 12.

Keepsakes at SHIFT Gallery features alum and current staff Laura Todd (MA 20)alum and former staff Liz Copland (BFA 09, MA 22), and Genny Costin. Exhibition will be on view from February 1 through March 2, Opening Reception on Feb 1, 5-8pm
