THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS EXPLORING THE IVA CONCENTRATION. PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO FRESHMEN STUDENTS AND ART MAJORS WHO NEED LOWER-DIVISION ART MAJOR REQUIREMENTS. STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT ON THE FIRST DAY TO PROCEED IN THE COURSE. YOU MUST BE IN CLASS ON THE FIRST DAY IN ORDER TO CONTINUE IN THE CLASS. ADDITIONAL SEATS WILL BE OPENED FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENT REGISTRATION ON NOVEMBER 16 + 17
Catalog Description:
Develops abilities to generate ideas and translate concepts. Emphasis on questioning preconceived notions of the role of art in culture. History and practice of conceptually-based art, including installation, video, performance, and sound; challenges students to identify the appropriate form or medium to express ideas and content.
