The 2024 MFA Thesis Exhibition was at RailSpur, a 14,000 square foot space inside a historic 1906 brick building in Pioneer Square, Seattle. The exhibition ran from May 27 through June 9.
The exhibition titled, Another Day at the Orifice, featuring the eight MFA graduating students, was the culmination of two years of intensive research and studio practice. Each artist scrutinized ideas of identity, mortality, the body, ritual, portals, and the traversal of space in a show designed to expose personal and sociocultural wounds. Collectively, the work aimed to shatter the routine, the stagnant, and the mundane.
