Syllabus Description:

Through a series of hands-on projects, this course will investigate relationships between art and design. Students will gain skills in idea generation, develop awareness of contemporary working methods,  and identify how messages are delivered through various media. We will examine the social, economic, and political functions of art and design and apply that knowledge to individual and collaborative projects.

Catalog Description: 
Presentation of process through which artists discover and translate ideas, feelings, and concerns into images or objects. Use of a wide variety of methods and approaches, from traditional to technological, to promote visual expression. Discussion and critiques leading toward better understanding the creative process.
