Syllabus Description:

ARTH 309, Women in Western European and American Art

This course will introduce and explore the legacy of women artists, subjects, and patrons in Western European and American portraiture to gain understanding of women’s experiences and roles by focusing on critical issues of identity, sexuality, race, and class through lectures, discussions, readings, and assignments.
