For fall quarter 2019, students taking Rome in the Seventeenth Century will have a special opportunity to study major works of seventeenth-century painting that will be coming to the Seattle Art Museum in October for the unprecedented exhibition Flesh and Blood: Masterpieces from the Capodimonte Museum, Naples (October 17, 2019-January 26, 2020. In the course you will learn about the emergence of new forms of painting, sculpture, and architecture in Rome in the seventeenth century and explore the historical reasons for these developments.
